San Pasquale Baylon
Born in 1540 in Aragon in Spain, Pasquale as a boy was in charge of guarding the flock but already showed that he was particularly devoted to the Eucharist.
In 1564 he entered the convent of the Friars Minor, where his superiors believed he was starting his career as a priest, but Paquale preferred to remain a simple friar, contenting himself throughout his life only with the humble tasks that were assigned to him by the convent, including that of concierge .
Gifted with intense Eucharistic piety, God filled him with great heavenly charisms.
Although he was of low culture, he wrote various texts concerning pity, where he presented his personal mystical experience.
He died on May 17, 1592, Alexander VIII made him a saint in 1690 and Leo XIII declared him patron of the Eucharistic Congresses in 1897.
