Meatloaf in casserole

How to make meatloaf in casserole, recipe with raw ham to be cooked in a pan with tomato and mushroom sauce, or to be boiled in boiling water, wrapping it first in cheesecloth.


Ingredients for 6 people

- 500 g of minced beef

- 40 g of grated Parmesan


- 40 g of raw ham

- 1/2 cup of milk

- 1 cup of breadcrumbs


- 2 eggs

- 1 bunch of mixed chopped odors, basil, parsley and celery

- 1 glass of dry white wine


- 50 g canned peeled tomatoes

- 25 g of dried mushrooms softened in warm water

- 2 tablespoons of flour

How to prepare the meatloaf

Put the breadcrumbs in the warm milk.

Chop the raw ham in the food processor together with the meat already minced and put them in a container with the Parmesan, the nutmeg, the breadcrumbs well squeezed and the lightly beaten eggs, the salt, the pepper.

Work the dough first with a wooden spoon and then with wet hands.


When the dough becomes compact, give it an elongated shape.

In a pan put the oil, the bunch of minced mixed odors and fry them for five minutes.

Flour the meatloaf and put it in the pan with the smells, then brown it on all sides by turning it carefully.

When it has taken on a beautiful golden color, wet it with white wine, raise the flame and let it evaporate.

Drain the tomatoes from the storage liquid and chop them with a fork, then squeeze the mushrooms and put everything in the pan of the meatloaf.

Leave to cook in a covered pan over low heat for about an hour.


Remove the meatloaf from the heat, let it cool, cut into slices and place them on a tray.

Heat the sauce left in the pan and with this sprinkle the slices of meatloaf.

Serve immediately.
