Rovaniemi: what to see in the city of Santa Claus

post-title

What to see in Rovaniemi, itinerary including the main places of interest, including Santa Claus House, Post Office, Santa Park and the Ice Gallery.

Tourist information

Capital of the Lapland Region, Rovaniemi is the northernmost city in Finland, located 10 km from the Arctic Circle and about 800 km north of Helsinki.

Near the city center, about 8 km north, there is a village known as Santa's House, where the main Santa Claus Post Office is located.

Postcards and letters can be sent from here to relatives and friends, placing them in Santa's red mailbox.

The correspondence sent will reach its destination with the original Santa Claus post stamp.

What see

At SantaPark it is possible to meet the "real" Santa Claus, sitting behind the desk of his studio.

Here the children can exercise various activities, including bricolage with the elves, the decoration of the ginger biscuits and a path on the sled train, which will take them, through a magnificent journey, to the laboratory where the Elves prepare the toys for the next year.

Through the fascinating sculptures of the Ice Gallery it is possible to get to know the life and myths of the Lapp population.
