Airport body scanner: how it works and what you see

How a body scanner installed in an airport works, what it is used for, what you see and control methodology to avoid inconvenience to travelers.

What is a body scanner

It is a digital scanning device of the entire human body, present in the main airports for security checks, designed to scan a human body in search of weapons or explosives hidden even in intimate parts.

This tool was conceived with the aim of preventing terrorist acts, avoiding creating the inconveniences, typical of other forms of control, among flight passengers, who would otherwise be forced to endure long waiting times in line for checks.

Thanks to this device, travelers do not have to suffer any physical contact from security staff.

For reasons of privacy protection, the head is not scanned and the images, even if stylized, are immediately deleted after checking.
