Emma of Saxony's life took place around the year 1000.

Sister of the bishop of Paderborn, Emma became the wife of Count Liutgero of Saxony, who died a few years after the wedding.

Having remained a widow at a young age and the sole heir to an immense patrimony, Emma decided to donate all her possessions to the poor and the Church, to make them used exclusively in works of charity.

He also devoted the rest of his life totally to the good of his neighbor until his death.

Died on April 19, 1040, Emma was soon honored by public worship.

She was in fact recognized as an authentic model of a Christian woman who, despite the desolation caused by her being a widow, managed to fully fulfill her mission of giving, preserving and increasing the life that surrounded her.

His body is buried inside the Bremen Cathedral.
