The Balkan ethnic groups are very varied in that they collect populations from different histories that in the past have generated ferments and even wars.


Where the Balkans are located

The Balkans are the geographical area corresponding to the Balkan peninsula which is located in Eastern Europe.

This area includes various states including Serbia and Croatia partially and Bulgaria, Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Greece and European Turkey in full.

The Balkan peninsula, very rich in water and with a largely mountainous territory, gathers different peoples characterized by stories often passed in turmoil for disagreements between different ethnic groups and is bathed by the Aegean sea, the Black sea, the Adriatic sea and the Ionian sea.
