Cala Gonone (Sardinia): what to see

post-title

What to see in Cala Gonone, itinerary including the main places of interest, including the grotta del bue marino, with information on tourist accommodation and climate.

Tourist information

Located in Sardinia in the province of Nuoro, from which it is about 8 km away, on the hill that thins out rapidly towards the sea in the Gulf of Orosei, Cala Gonone has a marina and good tourist reception, thanks to the presence of various hotels, family-run guest houses and a campsite with an area equipped for campers.

In Cala Gonone the climate is mild all year round, with hot summers and low humidity, thanks to the Mistral winds which, breathing frequently, have a beneficial influence, thanks to the strong winds that, bouncing off the mountains surrounding the gulf, they create a beneficial air cleaning effect.

What see

The suggestive nearby coves, including Cala Cartoe and Cala Fuili, can be reached by sea or on foot via paths.

Very interesting is the Grotta del Bue Marino which, starting from the coast, enters the mountain for a few kilometers, up to the place where a magnificent specimen of the monk seal, a currently endangered animal species, found refuge.
