post-title

What to see in Cape Town, journey to discover the monuments, the main attractions and itinerary of the places to visit.

Tourist information

Cape Town or Cape Town is the legislative capital of South Africa, located at the northern end of the Cape Peninsula, in the southwestern part of the African continent.

Flights to Cape Town are always very interesting from a tourist point of view, since this city is located in a beautiful scenic position, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at the foot of the Tafelberg and with many scenic and cultural attractions that make it the point ideal starting point for the most important tourist itineraries in southern South Africa.

The city center is located in a depression in the middle of a complex of reliefs, including the famous Tafelberg (Table Mountain), which presents itself with the front facing the city and the flat top.

The top of the mountain is often surrounded by a blanket of clouds which, by analogy with the name of the mountain (mountain table), is called the table cloth.

The top of the mountain can be reached from the city by a cable car that allows you to admire the beautiful panorama.

The complex of reliefs to which Tafelberg belongs is also formed by the peaks, Lion's Head (Devil's Head), Twelve Apostles (Twelve Apostles) and Signal Hill (Signal Hill).

Cape Town was founded in the late 17th century by the Dutch who made it the first European settlement in South Africa. It was a stopover and supply point for merchants and settlers, who found refuge and fertile lands to cultivate here.

Today Cape Town is a set of cultures and architectures, which have come down to us through its particular and troubled history, which made sure that the city was remembered for Apartheid, but also for being the place where Nelson Mandela, after his release in February 1990, he made his first public speech decreeing the end of Apartheid and the beginning of a path, still in progress, for the total overcoming of racial segregation.

What see

Government Adderley, is the street where most of the city's historic buildings and museums overlook.

In the Central area there is the place where Jan van Riebeeck landed, and the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in the city, built between 1666 and 1679.
