Charlotte with dark chocolate mousse

How to make charlotte with dark chocolate mousse by dipping the ladyfingers in coffee and making a cream with eggs, chocolate, jelly and whipped cream.


Ingredients for 4 people

- 150 g of ladyfingers

- 1 cup of coffee


- 100 g of dark chocolate

- 100 ml of fresh cream

- 3 eggs - use 1 egg yolk and 3 egg whites -


- 2 sheets of jelly

- salt

How to prepare the charlotte with dark chocolate mousse

Chop the chocolate into small pieces and mix it together with 3 teaspoons of cream.


Put it to cook in a bain-marie, with the heat off, then leave it to rest until the chocolate has melted.

Separate the yolks from the whites and whisk the 3 egg whites with a pinch of salt.

Whip also the cream.

Soak the gelatin in cold water, squeeze it and melt it on the fire with a drop of coffee.

In a bowl put the melted chocolate, 1 yolk, the beaten egg whites, the jelly and the whipped cream, then mix gently from the bottom upwards.

Soak the ladyfingers in the coffee and place them on the edges of the mold.

Pour the mousse in the center and leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

Pass the edges of the mold with a wet knife and turn it over without delay.

Finally decorate the charlotte with some whipped cream and some chocolate chips.
