Recipe for preparing a cream cheese with aromatic herbs and cream, excellent as an appetizer if served spread on toasted croutons.
Ingredients for 4 portions
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 fresh floret of basil
- 100 gr cream
- 250 gr soft herb cheese
Preparation of the cream cheese with aromatic herbs
First of all whip the cream, then combine in a pan, with low edges, cheese, oil and vinegar, crushing the first with a fork and mixing everything with lots of energy, so as to obtain a creamy and soft whole to which to incorporate the cream.
At this point arrange the mixture obtained in a suitable container to serve on the table, giving it a dome shape and garnishing with the basil.
The cream cheese with aromatic herbs is excellent served as an appetizer, accompanied with toasted bread or wholemeal crackers.
If the cheese already containing the aromatic herbs is not available, it is possible to prepare it simply by yourself, taking a neutral cheese and mixing the herbs, which can include, for example, parsley, basil, mint and chives or catmint.
