post-title

Where is it

Dahab is a town and a tourist center highly appreciated internationally for holidays in Egypt. It overlooks the Red Sea, in the south-eastern part of the Sinai peninsula, at a distance of about 100 kilometers from Sharm el Sheikh.

It is a place of passage during the excursions that from Sharm el Sheikh lead to the desert and Mount Sinai.

Meaning of the name

Dahab in Arabic means gold, probably in reference to the color of the sand of the beach and the desert that characterizes this place, renowned for the particular and daring dives that its stretch of sea gives us.

Diving

One of these is the dive called Canyon, where you dive into a split in the rock, up to 30 meters deep, and then go out into the beautiful coral reef that extends along the coast, full of colors and life.

Keep in mind that the Dahab area offers ideal conditions for windsurfing.

Where stay

As for tourist accommodation, this is certainly not lacking in Dahab which, despite being a small center with a reduced number of inhabitants of just over a thousand, is equipped with modern family-run hotels and pensions, there is no shortage of campsites and trattorias on the sea where you can taste some local specialties.

How to get

The nearest airport is in Sharm from which Dahab can be reached by taking a taxi or minibus to be transported to the bus station.
