How to make homemade almond brittle, a recipe for a traditional dessert that can be served at the end of lunch with other small sweets, or, after crumbling it, it can be used as a garnish on ice cream bowls, soft desserts or whipped cream.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 300 g of peeled sweet almonds
- 300 g of sugar
- 1 or 2 spoons of water
- 1 tablespoon of oil for greasing
How to prepare homemade almond brittle
Put the almonds in a hot oven for a few minutes so that they dry well, but do not color, then cut them into small pieces.
In a saucepan, melt and brown the sugar over high heat by adding a spoon or two of water.
When the sugar is caramelized, add the almonds and mix with a wooden spoon.
Grease a marble or greaseproof paper with oil, then pour the crisp all at once, being careful to distribute it evenly, with the help of a large knife or a steel or iron spatula moistened in cold water, until a thickness about one centimeter thick.
Leave to cool, then cut the crunchy into small rectangles, rhombuses or squares.
