Where is it

The Indian Ocean is the third largest ocean in the world by order of magnitude, occupying about a fifth of the Earth's surface.

Since ancient times, it has been an important transit route between the Asian and African continents.


It includes many holiday destination islands including Madagascar, Seychelles, Maldives and Mauritius.
