Liechtenstein tourism

One of the smallest independent states in the world, the Principality of Liechtenstein is located between Austria and Switzerland.

The territory, largely mountainous, is almost entirely made up of the western side of the Reticone chain in the Central Alps, whose highest peak exceeds 2500 meters above sea level, while a reduced plain extends along the course of the Rhine river, in which they flow almost all other rivers in the nation, including Samina, which marks the western border with Switzerland.

A third of the country's territory is covered with beech and oak forests in the lower areas, while conifers prevail on the slopes of the mountains.

The climate is alpine, characterized by severe winters and mild summers, the rains and snowfalls in winter are frequent and copious.

The original inhabitants of Liechtenstein, equal to about two thirds of the population, descend from the Germans, who invaded this territory in 500.

Being endowed with very few natural and agricultural resources, the state imports practically almost everything it consumes, including electricity and raw materials necessary for the functioning of its developed industry, specialized above all in the production of machinery, precision instruments, pharmaceutical products. and food.

But Liechtenstein's main economic source is the condition that makes it a real tax haven for investor companies, who derive their greatest gains from tax exemption and strict banking secrecy.

The nation's capital is Vaduz.
