He was born in Cornwall in about 520 and died in Kintyre, Scotland, on 9 May 576
San Costantino was king, disciple of S. Colombano and martyr.
Constantine, king of Cornwall, married to the daughter of the king of Brittany, led a dissolute life until, still at a young age, he converted to Christianity.
He left the throne and became a monk in the monastery of St. Mochuda in Rahan, Ireland, where he devoted himself to humble tasks, studied the scriptures and became a priest.
He was a disciple of St. Columban and St. Kentigern, went as a missionary to Galloway, in today's Scotland where he became abbot of a monastery in Govan.
On May 9, 576 in Kintyre, he was massacred by some pagan fanatics, the ruins of an ancient church in Kilchouslan still remember the place where the saint most likely died bled.
His disciples moved his mortal remains to Govon, to the church that bears his name.
He is considered to be Scotland's first martyr.
