The Saint of the day May 1 is Saint Joseph the worker, which name day is celebrated and other saints who are celebrated on this date.
Saint Joseph worker
Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, of the lineage of David, husband of Mary, had so much confidence in God that he accepted the Divine motherhood of the Virgin, for this reason God repaid him by entrusting his own Son to him.
Joseph was a righteous man who had faith without reservations, in his shadow and that of Mary Jesus he was able to grow in wisdom, in stature and in grace.
For this reason Joseph was not only a symbol of loyalty, humility and poverty, but an authentic symbol of faith.
Remembering St. Joseph, the dignity of human work is recognized, to be considered as a duty and improvement of man, as well as a profitable training for his dominion over creation.
Work must be seen as service to the community in continuity with the exceptional work of God, creator of all things, both those of heaven and those of earth.
In 1955 Pius XII instituted this liturgical feast, to be celebrated coinciding with that of the workers which falls on May 1st.
