How to make the walnut cake, a classic recipe, whose peculiarity, in this case, is the addition of mixed candied fruit and lemon juice.
Ingredients for 6 people
- 250 g of peeled and chopped walnuts
- 180 g of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 200 g of white flour
- 200 g of candied fruit mixed in small cubes
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 sachet of icing sugar
How to prepare the nut cake
In a bowl, with a wooden spoon, work the yolks with the sugar until a light and frothy mixture is obtained.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and incorporate them into the yolks, stirring gently from bottom to top.
Combine flour, chopped walnuts and candied fruit alternately and in small quantities at a time.

Mix well and add the lemon juice.
Line the cake pan with baking paper and pour the mixture into it, leveling the surface with a spatula.
Transfer to a hot oven for about forty minutes, then remove the cake from the oven, let it cool and sprinkle with icing sugar.
