Capital and largest city by extension of Norway, Oslo is located in the final part of the fjord of the same name on the North Sea, surrounded by green hills dotted with lakes.

The center of Oslo consists of an extensive green area, the Frognerparken, inside which the Vigelan Park is located, a characteristic open-air museum, where sculptures, bas-reliefs and wrought iron works made by Gustav are permanently exposed Vigeland.


Karl Johans gate, which is the main street, connects the central station to the new Royal Palace.

This street overlooks the most important historic city buildings, including the Cathedral of San Halvard, the Palace of Parliament and the National Theater.

What see

The oldest part of the city is located north of the Castle and the fourteenth-century Fortress of Akershus.

Of considerable interest are the numerous museums of the city, including the National Gallery, the Munch Museum, the Norwegian Folklore Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, one of the most evocative to visit, which houses the three best preserved Viking ships in the world, discovered between 1867 and 1904.

The royal palace was erected in the first half of the nineteenth century as a residence intended for King Charles III of Norway, also known as Charles fourteenth of Sweden.
