In Veneto, in the eastern part of the Po Valley and a few kilometers north of the Euganean Hills, Padua is located, spread over an area characterized by various streams that have influenced its urban fabric.

Padua of ancient artistic and cultural tradition is also known as the city of Sant'Antonio, a saint of Portuguese origins who died here after spending a few years of his life there.


Walking in the historic center, under its arcades, you can breathe the ancient origins of Padua.

The Palazzo della Ragione, built in 1218-19 and enlarged in 1306-09, is distinguished by the hull-shaped cover of an overturned ship.

The upper floor is occupied by a large hanging room, called the Salone, which divides Piazza delle Erbe from Piazza dei Frutti.


Under the Hall, along two parallel galleries, there are characteristic food shops.

What see

In Piazza Eremitani stands the famous Scrovegni Chapel, where we can admire frescoes by Giotto, masterpieces of Italian and European 14th century painting.

The Duomo with its Baptistery completely covered by a beautiful cycle of frescoes by Giusto de ’Menabuoi.

The Basilica of Sant'Antonio, which houses the Saint's tomb, is rich in works of art.

The current building is the result of three reconstructions that took place between 1238 and 1310.
