How to make panzanella with Sicilian stale bread, a simple recipe to prepare a delicious side dish based on tomatoes, basil and olive oil.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 1 cucumber
- 1 onion
- 4 or 5 ripe tomatoes
- some basil leaves
- 8 slices of homemade bread of a certain consistency
- olive oil, salt and pepper
Panzanella preparation with stale bread
Soften the slices of bread in the water, squeeze them and put them in a salad bowl.
Add the sliced tomatoes, the onion cut into thin slices and if you like cucumber.
Season all with olive oil, salt, pepper and a few basil leaves.
Stir and leave to rest for at least an hour before serving.
