How to make the potato and bacon pie, a recipe that accompanies the dish with a sauce made with fresh cream, flour, onion and curry powder.


Ingredients for 4 people

- 5 potatoes

- 100 ml of fresh cream


- 40 g of bacon

- 4 spoons of parmesan

- 1 knob of butter


- 2 eggs

- salt and pepper

For the sauce


- 150 ml of fresh cream

- 2 tablespoons of flour

- 2 tablespoons of curry powder

- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

- 20 g of onion

How to prepare potato and bacon pie with curry sauce

Boil 3 potatoes, peel them and pass them to the potato masher.

Put the mashed potatoes in a bowl and let it cool, then add the eggs, the grated Parmesan, the diced bacon, the cream, salt, pepper and mix well.

Peel and round the two remaining potatoes externally in order to obtain cylinders, then cut them into very thin slices and whiten them in boiling water for 1 minute, then drain them.


Butter a mold, coat it with the sliced ​​potatoes and fill it with the potato and bacon mixture.

Bake at 180 ° C for about half an hour.

In a pan with hot extra virgin olive oil, toast the onion, add the curry, a pinch of salt, flour and cream.

Bring to a boil, thicken a little and then whisk the mixture until a fine and creamy sauce is obtained.

Remove from the oven, turn it upside down and serve with the curry sauce.
