Comment – Psalm 121 is part of the group of fifteen psalms, from 119 to 133, recited in pilgrimages to Jerusalem which included an uphill path and for this reason called ascensions.

[1] Song of the Ascensions. I look up to the mountains: where will the help come from?
[2] My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
[3] He will not let your foot falter, your guardian will not fall asleep.
[4] The keeper of Israel will not fall asleep, he will not fall asleep.
[5] The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is like a shadow covering you, and he is at your right hand.
[6] By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.
[7] The Lord will protect you from all evil, he will protect your life.
[8] The Lord will watch over you when you go out and when you come in, now and forever.
