Psalm 24: complete, commentary

post-title

CommentPsalm 24 illustrates when Israel is returning from exile, in the awareness that, after the destruction of the city and the temple of Jerusalem, to be with the Lord one must be pure in heart, as the temple does not save anyone unless accompanied in the ascent from fidelity to the law of God.

Psalm 24 complete

[1] Of David. Psalm. Of the Lord is the earth and what it contains, the universe and its inhabitants.

[2] He is the one who founded it on the seas, and on the rivers he established it.

[3] Who will ascend the mountain of the Lord, who will stay in his holy place?

[4] Who has innocent hands and a pure heart, who does not utter a lie, who does not swear to the detriment of his neighbor.

[5] He will obtain blessing from the Lord, justice from God his salvation.

[6] Behold the generation that seeks him, that seeks your face, God of Jacob.

[7] Lift up, doors, your fronts, rise up, ancient doors, and enter the king of glory.

[8] Who is this king of glory? The strong and powerful Lord, the powerful Lord in battle.

[9] Lift up, doors, your fronts, rise up, ancient doors, and enter the king of glory.

[10] Who is this king of glory? The Lord of hosts is the king of glory.
