CommentFaced with a conspiracy towards him, carried out by many enemies, in Psalm 3 the defamed psalmist does not abandon his faith in God but continues to invoke him with confidence.

Psalm 3 complete

Morning invocation of the persecuted righteous

[1] Psalm of David when his son Absalom fled.

[2] Lord, how many are my oppressors! Many rise up against me.

[3] Many of me are saying, "Not even God saves him!"

[4] But you, O Lord, are my defense, you are my glory and raise my head.

[5] I raise my voice to the Lord and answer me from his holy mountain.

[6] I lie down and fall asleep, I wake up because the Lord supports me.

[7] I do not fear the multitude of people who camp against me.

[8] Arise, Lord, save me, my God. You hit my enemies on the cheek, you broke the teeth of sinners.

[9] Salvation is of the Lord: your blessing upon your people.
