Comment – Psalm 70 is a re-edition of a part of Psalm 39 with the aim of making a very intense but short prayer available. The liturgy of the hours uses, to begin the prayer, the opening words of this psalm, or God come to save me, Lord come quickly to my help.
Psalm 70 complete
[1] To the choir master. Di Davide. In memory.
[2] Come and save me, O God, come quickly, Lord, to my help.
[3] Those who attempt my life are confused and blushed.
Let those who want my ruin go back and be ashamed.
[4] Out of shame turn those who mock me back.
[5] Joy and great joy for those who seek you; always say: "God is great" those who love your salvation.
[6] But I am poor and unhappy, come quickly, my God; you are my help and my savior; Sir, don't delay.
