post-title

Things to know about the Red Sea, which are the most beautiful places where the beauty of the sea is enhanced by the coral reef and the magnificent marine fauna.

Where is the Red Sea

The Red Sea washes Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Sudan.

The name Red Sea derives from a particular type of red seaweed widely spread in Eritrea.

Geographically, it is a sea between the African territory and the Saudi Arabia peninsula, it enters into communication with the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal and with the Indian Ocean through the Bab el Mandeb strait.

At the Sinai peninsula, the Red Sea undergoes a bifurcation dividing into the Gulf of Aqaba in the east and the Gulf of Suez in the west.

Red Sea in the Bible

This sea is also mentioned in the book Exodus of the Holy Bible when it is told about the crossing of the Red Sea by the Jews who fled to Egypt under the guidance of Moses to escape the persecutions of the Egyptians: the waters of the sea were first opened by God to let the Jews pass and then closed the passage of the Egyptian troops in order to save the fugitives.

Marine life

The fauna present in the seabed of the Red Sea is very diverse, with an abundance of corals, fish and various types of marine organisms.

Since the waters are blue and very transparent, it is often possible to observe some varieties of fish also from the surface.

Landscape

The mountain ranges on the sides of this sea also contribute to creating a landscape dominated by unique colors, able to impress such a positive impression on the tourist's mind that he wants to return here for a new holiday in Egypt.

The Red Sea is today of particular importance for navigation as it allows access to the Suez canal without having to circumnavigate Africa.

Countries bathed by the Red Sea
