Tourist information

With origins dating back to the Middle Ages, San Daniele del Friuli developed in the twelfth century as a municipality and market.

The Cathedral of San Michele Arcangelo, located in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, has an elaborate eighteenth-century facade, the work of Domenico Rossi.


Inside the Cathedral there is a sixteenth-century baptismal font and a treasure, including interesting goldsmith's works.

What see

Going out to the right is the Palazzo Comunale, dating back to the fifteenth century and subsequently reworked, which houses the Guarneriana Library, which houses illuminated manuscripts, including a fourteenth-century Divine Comedy.

The Museum of the territory is located in via San Sebastiano, which collects archaeological finds, tear-off frescoes and other interesting works of art.

The Church of Sant'Antonio Abate, located in via Garibaldi, has an interior decorated, in the presbytery area and in the apse, by a remarkable cycle of Renaissance frescoes, made by Martino di Udine, better known as Pellegrino da San Daniele, between the 1498 and 1522.
