Recipe for making stuffed squid in Sicilian style, what is needed and guided procedure to prepare them, from cleaning the shellfish to the preparation of the mixture that will be used for the filling.


Ingredients for 4 portions

- 1 clove of garlic

- extra virgin olive oil


- sweet paprika

- 2 ripe tomatoes

- 4 squid of 200 gr each


- 2 slices of sandwich bread

- milk

- 1 sprig of basil


- salt

How to cook stuffed calamari alla Siciliana

Carefully clean the squid, removing the tentacles and removing the transparent bone, intestine, eyes and horny beak.

Finely chop the tentacles and transfer them to a bowl, then mix them with the sandwich soaked in milk and squeezed, abundant chopped basil and clove of garlic, add a drizzle of oil, salt and a pinch of paprika.

Put the mixture in the squid and close them with a toothpick each, then wash the tomatoes, chop them coarsely and place them on the bottom of a prepared baking dish greased with oil.

Lay the squid on top and add salt, then sprinkle the oil and cover with aluminum foil before cooking in the preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 25 minutes.

Once cooked, serve immediately without delay.
