Sochi (Russia): what to see in the holiday resort

Located in the Krasnodar Territory, in southern Russia on the Black Sea coast, Sochi is a town with the Caucasus chain behind it, with beautiful snowy peaks, a factor that has made it a renowned center for international winter sports , home of the Winter Olympic Games in 2014.

The coastal development of Sochi extends for almost 150 km, its vast municipality includes various districts, including Adler, Hosta, Loo and Krasnaja Poljana.

Favored by a mild climate and vegetation rich in palm trees and magnolias, Sochi is first of all a seaside resort and holiday resort frequented mainly by the Russians, who founded the current city in the nineteenth century.

Dentrarium, is a subtropical park that boasts many species of rare and exotic plants.

It is possible to take the cable car and reach the highest part of the park where you can admire a magnificent panorama.

Terrainkur, is a path about five kilometers long, which winds almost all along the coast between palm trees, magnolias and bushes of various kinds.

It is a healthy path, created in Soviet times for this purpose, following it is still very rewarding.

Stalin's Dacia was built in 1937 among the woods that meet climbing towards the peaks of the Caucasus, not far from the city center.

The structure of the building includes various parts connected together by corridors to the veranda, which overlook a central courtyard.

On board were the engineer Sevastyanov, originally from Sochi, and the pilot Nikokiev.

The Art Museum, located inside a beautiful classic building and surrounded by a tree-lined park, houses a large permanent collection and interesting temporary exhibitions.
