- 500 gr. of spring onions
- 40 gr. of butter
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- salt
- pepper
How sweet and sour onions are made
First of all peel the onions, then wash them and immerse them in a pot with boiling water, taking 3 minutes to scald them, after which drain them.
Melt the butter in a pan, add the onions making them flavor for a few minutes.
Add the tomato sauce previously dissolved in half a glass of hot water, add salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the onions over medium heat for about 25 minutes with a covered pan, stirring occasionally using a wooden spoon.
Add a spoonful of vinegar and a teaspoon of sugar, mix by cooking for a further three minutes.
Once cooked, transfer the onions to a tray, wetting them abundantly with the cooking sauce, then serve on the table while still hot.
