post-title

What to see in Taba, where it is located, short history, holidays between bays and coves in the scenery of the Red Sea, excursions to do in Petra, Jerusalem and Pharaoh's Island, coral reef.

Tourist information

Located in Egypt on the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea, Taba is 65 kilometers from Nuweiba and is the most northerly place along the east coast of the Sinai Peninsula, near the border with Israel.

The small village was long disputed between Israel and Egypt, until, in 1988, an international commission decreed its definitive assignment to Egypt.

Taba is very popular as a holiday resort, thanks to the many characteristic bays and coves, framed in one of the most suggestive landscapes of the Red Sea.

With the recent opening of an international airport, Taba has been affected by a strong tourist increase, thanks also to the opening of new hotels, quickly becoming a popular holiday resort in the Red Sea.

Excursions not to be missed

The stay in Taba, between desert and sea with crystal clear waters, offers the opportunity to make excursions to visit very interesting historical sites.

It is a privileged destination to reach, through an organized day trip, the famous city of Petra, located in Jordan, taking the ferry to Aqaba and then proceeding by bus to Petra.

Another interesting destination, reachable from Taba in the day, is Jerusalem, one of the main places in the Holy Land, returning in the evening with a stop in Eilat and subsequent crossing of the Arava Valley to the Dead Sea.

The Island of Pharaoh, an ancient Phoenician port, is one of the main attractions of Taba, surrounded by the Red Sea and with the fortress still intact that dominates the panorama.

The coral reef, which surrounds the island, attracts snorkelers and scuba divers every year.
