Tel Aviv means "Hill of Spring" and is a city of Israel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, founded in 1909 by Jewish settlers in a territory a few kilometers north of Jaffa.

The city has expanded very rapidly to become the main economic center of the country and to incorporate, in 1949, the ancient city of Jaffa.


Tel Aviv is an international cultural and intellectual center, equipped with theaters, cinemas, museums and two important universities, the University of Tel Aviv (founded in 1953) and the University of Bar-Ilan (established in 1955), located in the outlying district of Ramat Gan.

What see

Tel Aviv presents itself with modern buildings, tree-lined avenues, sandy beaches, clubs that offer a wide choice for entertainment, from music to theater, from fashion to culinary specialties, there is a popular saying that says, "in Tel Aviv we have fun, we work in Haifa, we pray in Jerusalem ”.

Inside Tel Aviv is the White City, a residential neighborhood where a large number of Bauhaus-style buildings are concentrated, also referred to as a modern movement, built between 1931 and 1956 and designed by European-born immigrant architects, the which have been able to adapt the modern style to the local culture and climate, for this reason Tel Aviv has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Nearby is Jaffa, famous for the port already mentioned in the old testament, which became the main seaport of Palestine in medieval times.

The historic center of Jaffa consists of sandstone houses and narrow alleys, to see the artists' quarter and the walls, following a natural itinerary that includes restaurants, small typical shops, the promenade along the sea and the port, a docking point for fishing boats.
