Vov: grandmother's original recipe for egg liqueur

How to prepare Vov at home, a mouth-watering liqueur made from milk, egg yolks, sugar and dry marsala, a recipe invented by the Paduan pastry chef Gian Battista Pezziol in 1845.


Ingredients for about 1 liter of vov

- 1 hg of dry marsala

- 1 hg of alcohol


- 4 egg yolks

- 4 hg of sugar

- half liter of milk


- 1 vanilla stick

How to prepare the Vov

Boil the milk with the vanilla bean.

When the milk is very cold, add the beaten egg yolks with the sugar, marsala and alcohol.

Shake the mixture well, pass it through a thick strainer and bottle it.

Slay the bottle before consuming it.
