Minnesota falls between the states of the United States, located in the central north part of the United States of America, and is bordered by Canada, North Dakota and South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Very rich in lakes, it also has several rivers including Minnesota and Mississippi, moreover the territory has different landscapes characterized by having extensive plains to the south and west with an abundance of forests mainly of conifers and luxuriant forests in the remaining part.
Being very distant from the ocean, Minnesota has a continental climate with particularly cold winters due to the cold air currents from the north to which it is exposed.
There are considerable variations in temperature when moving from north to south.

Saint Paul is the capital, characterized by fairly well preserved traditional architecture, despite the spread of modern skyscrapers.

Minneapolis is, in order of size, the largest city in the state, together with Saint Paul it forms the metropolitan area of the Twin Cities or twin cities, located on the two opposite sides of the Mississippi.
Inside the urban area there are as many as 24 lakes, with a consequent abundance of water, which have made it famous also with the name of city of lakes.
The name originated from the union of the term mni, which in the Dakota language means water, and polis, which in Greek means city.
