How to make canestrelli, delicious biscuits prepared with white and yellow flour, butter, sugar and cocoa, good at any time of the day.
Ingredients for about 500 g of biscuits
- 200 g of white flour
- 50 g of very fine ground yellow flour
- 150 g of butter
- 100 g of granulated sugar
- 30 g of cocoa
- 1 sachet of vanillin
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- icing sugar to taste
How to prepare canestrelli biscuits
Sift the white and yellow flour through a sieve, add sugar, cocoa, vanillin and a pinch of salt.

Arrange the ingredients on a work surface and put the whole egg and the softened butter into small pieces in the center.
Mix everything and make a ball with the mixture obtained, then let it rest for about half an hour, covered with a napkin.
After rolling out the dough about 1 cm high and with the special mold, in the shape of a flower with the hole in the center, cut the canestrelli.
Put in a hot oven at 160 ° for about 15/20 minutes.
