post-title

What to see in Camigliatello Silano, what are the excursions to do, the ski slopes, the leisure activities to be practiced in the open area and the local gastronomic products to taste.

Tourist information

Among the major ski resorts and summer and winter holiday resorts of Sila, Camigliatello Silano is located in the north of this wonderful Calabria plateau, at an altitude of 1272 meters and near the top of Monte Curcio.

During the winter season, the well-equipped ski facilities of Rifugio del Tasso come into operation, located less than a kilometer from the town center, which can be used to reach the summit of Monte Curcio.

For skiing there are two slopes, one of which is less long but demanding, suitable for this only for more expert skiers, while the other, despite having a longer length, is easier and therefore suitable for beginners.

During the summer it is possible to choose from numerous paths for relaxing excursions on foot or by mountain bike, reaching the observation points located at higher altitudes from which it is possible to widen one's gaze to enjoy beautiful views.

What see

Among the most interesting excursion destinations include Mount Curcio and Mount Botte Donato, as well as Lake Cecita where, despite being an artificial basin, created with the diversion of the Mucone river via a dam, it is possible to catch excellent quality fish. .

Near the lake, there is the Conca della Fossiata, which is considered to be the Calabria National Park, being the largest forest complex in the Sila Grande.

This naturalistic area is made up of hills covered with thick larch pine woods, a typical tree of these areas which can reach 40 meters in height.

From the bark of these pines a perfumed resin is obtained, once used in the preparation of aromatic essences.

In the surroundings there are picturesque villages, including Fago del Soldato, Moccone and Croce di Magara, as well as the Biogenetic Reserves of Fallistro and Tasso.

Further leisure activities are organized by the stables, which offer the opportunity to take relaxing horseback rides, and by the sports centers, where there are tennis courts, skating rinks, bowling alleys and playgrounds dedicated to children.
