Saints Nereo, Achilleo and Pancrazio

These are three glorious martyrs, for whom there is a lot of devotion from the Christian people.

Nereo and Achilleo were Roman soldiers assigned to the court.

When they converted to the Christian faith, they left the service they were serving in the army and for this reason they were sentenced to death, in the time of the emperor Diocletian.

Their sepulcher is located in the cemetery on via Ardeatina, where a basilica was built in their honor.

Pancrazio died a martyr in Rome, who fell victim to the ongoing persecution by Diocletian.

His sepulcher is kept on the Via Aurelia, at the point where Pope Simmaco had a church built.

Subsequently, Pope Gregory the Great often gathered all the faithful in that place, to provide them with a testimony of true Christian love.
