Tourist information

Located on the northern slopes of the Nebrodi, Patti is a country whose origins date back to the Hellenistic era.

In the typically medieval historical center of Patti, there is the cathedral, of Norman origin but rebuilt in 1963, which preserves in the right transept the sarcophagus of the consort of Roger I, Adelasia, dating back to the Renaissance period, as well as a remarkable painting of the five hundred, having as subject the Madonna and made by Antonello de Saliba.

The Roman villa, which is located near Marina di Patti on the right bank of the Montagnareale stream, was built in the late imperial period, i.e. between the fourth and fifth centuries.

This building represents a precious testimony relating to the high standard of living that Roman and local aristocrats used to indulge in.

The central part is centered on a peristyle comprising a portico on pillars, while to the south there is a vast room characterized by three apses.

The floors are formed by geometric and polychrome mosaics depicting animals, while in the eastern part you can see a thermal complex.
