Psalm 83 complete

[1] Singing. Psalm. Asaph

[2] God, do not give yourself rest, do not remain silent and inert, O God.

[3] See: your opponents are shivering and your enemies are raising their heads.

[4] They plot plots against your people and plot against your protégés.

[5] They said, "Come, let's erase them as a people and forget the name of Israel."

[6] They have plotted together, they have concluded an alliance against you;

[7] the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Agarèni,

[8] Gebal, Ammon and Amalek Palestine with the inhabitants of Tire.

[9] Assur is also their ally and lends a lot to Lot's children.

[10] Treat them as Midian and Sisara, as Iabin at the Kison stream:

[11] they were destroyed in Endor, they became fertilizer for the earth.

[12] Make their princes like Oreb and Zeb, and like Zebee and Sàlmana all their leaders;

[13] they said: "Let us conquer the pastures of God for us."

[14] My God, make them like turbines, like chaff scattered by the wind.

[15] Like the fire that burns the forest and like the flame that devours the mountains,

[16] so you chase them with your storm and upset them with your hurricane.

[17] Cover their faces with shame so that they may seek your name, Lord.

[18] May they remain confused and troubled forever, be humiliated, perish;

[19] know that you have the name "Lord", you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
