San Vincenzo Ferreri
Born in Valencia on 23 January 1350 and died in Vannes on 5 April 1419, Vincenzo Ferreri was a Spanish religious.
Vincenzo found himself living at the time of the great Western schism, when the popes were first 2 and then even 3.
He entered the Dominican Order at a very young age, continuing his studies first at the formation house in Barcelona, then in Lleida and Toulouse.
While still a young Dominican, he realized that the Church needed to find unity within it and a moral reform.
In 1394 his cardinal protector de Luna, elected pope with the name of Benedict XIII, appointed him his confessor, domestic chaplain and apostolic penitentiary.
He continued his activity with renewed vigor but, in 1398, having become ill, he had a vision in which the Savior appears to him accompanied by San Domenico and San Francesco.
The Lord, touching the patient's cheek, orders him to go on a journey going to conquer many souls.
Vincenzo then left Avignon to go on evangelization missions to Spain, Switzerland and France, in his sermons he spoke above all about the devil and the final judgment.
His contribution was instrumental in ending the schism and improving behavior in general.
