He was born near Lyon in 1786.

Having overcome many difficulties, he could have started the priesthood and held and admirably flourished the parish entrusted to him in the village of Ars in the Diocese of Belley with effective preaching, mortification, prayer, charity.

Being highly esteemed in the spiritual direction, the faithful flocked to him from all sides and received his advice with reverence.

He died in 1859.
