post-title

What to see in Auronzo di Cadore, an itinerary including the main places of interest, including Somadida Nature Reserve, Lake Santa Caterina and Lake Misurina, located in the latter of the same name.

Tourist information

Among the most important centers in the Cadore area, Auronzo boasts landscapes of rare beauty, located in an area almost completely surrounded by the woods that line the mountains.

Near the village is the artificial lake of Santa Caterina, commonly known as Auronzo lake, originating from the diversion of the Ansiei river.

The typical alpine landscape that characterizes Auronzo di Cadore, located at an altitude of 864 meters, represents one of the main tourist attractions.

The Somadida Natural Reserve deserves to be visited, a large area covered by woods which in the past was a major source of supply for Venice.

The current conformation of Auronzo is the result of a development that took place during the nineteenth century, when due to the considerable Venetian influence, it was decided to leave the typical aspect of the small mountain town to give life to a town.

What see

Villagrande and Villapiccola are the two hamlets that make up the village.

To visit the sixteenth century Church of Santa Giustina in Villagrande, whose interior contains interesting marble altars, as well as the parish church of Villapiccola, dating back to the nineteenth century.

Rowing events and motor boating competitions are held in Lake Auronzo at various times of the year.

In Misurina, a hamlet of the same municipality, there is the homonymous lake of natural origin, known for being the largest in Cadore, located at an altitude of 1754 meters.
