There are many people who wonder how to help memory remember better, the solution often lies in the few guidelines to follow to keep the mind well trained so that it is always in perfect shape.

It can happen to anyone not to remember, or struggle to do so, a number, a name or the place where a certain object is stored.

These are usually small daily forgetfulnesses, commonly identified as memory lapses, which, however, are absolutely not to worry.


However, there are easy methodologies to follow to preserve the ability to remember in our mind.

It must be understood first of all how memory is made, to do this it is useful to assimilate it to a large shed where all the information that constantly solicits it in the course of daily life is stored.

Part of the images and words or sounds heard, are recorded in the "short-term" section of the memory in jargon, due to the limited ability to retain information for a long time.


The most important memories, the ones you want to remain available for a long time, will have to be transferred to the "long-term" memory, where they will be kept unchanged even for many years and can be recalled with a simple search in the maze of the mind.

There are simple techniques to be implemented to better store information in our brain, as regards names, for example, it is appropriate to resort to associations, while for lists, the easiest way is to set up a real and own associative chain, which consists in linking the image of each object with the following one.

To memorize a number, on the contrary, there are numerous ways, among which the most used is to couple the figures in small groups, instead of memorizing them individually.


Alternatively, associations that recall mathematics can be created, connecting each digit to the other by multiplication, addition or subtraction, depending on the best practicality to be evaluated at the moment in a personal way.

Another very effective method to keep memory active, especially in older people, is to train it with games, preferably strategy, chess-like, or in any case force you to think or remember, in order to send active stimuli to the brain.
