Hurghada is a famous tourist resort in Egypt overlooking the Red Sea for a length of approx. 40 km of coast, a beautiful and warm seaside town with an underwater environment which, with its fantastic coral reef and fish of various species, is suitable for meeting the needs of the most demanding scuba diving enthusiasts.

Founded in the early twentieth century, Hurghada has undergone a significant tourist expansion in recent decades, with the construction of numerous villages by foreign investors.


The local economy is largely linked to the significant tourist flow that converges there every year, also favored by the presence of the Hurghada International airport and, to a lesser extent, fishing.

What to do

Very renowned for the beautiful seabed and the mild temperature of the clear sea water, it is ideal for water sports, including windsurfing, sailing, fishing, swimming and snorkeling.

In addition, scuba diving enthusiasts can appreciate the seabed rich in fish and lush vegetation thanks to the clarity of the water.


What see

It is divided into three main locations, El Dahar, the oldest part, where there are the bazaars, the bus station, the post office and the newer parts of Sekalla and El Korra Road.

In front of Hurghada there are a series of islands, among which Giftun and Piccola Giftun with the homonymous National Park, characterized by extraordinary backdrops.

In the surroundings of Hurghada there are other well-known and equipped tourist resorts of Egypt including Al Mahmya, a beach located within the protected area of ​​the island of Giftun, Sahl Hasheesh, a luxury hotel center located a few kilometers south , El Gouna, located about 25 km north with its 14 luxury hotels and many villas and apartments built on islands separated from each other by canals and connected by functional bridges, Makadi Bay, over 35 km south of Hurgada and famous for having a long beach and privileged access to the coral reef, Sharm El Naga, about forty kilometers south of Hurgada and known for its red reefs, Soma Bay, 45 km away from Hurghada in a southerly direction and located on the eastern shore of Egypt in the Red Sea.


To the north of Hurghada, in the area of ​​El Gouna, there is another very beautiful archipelago and, going south, you will find beautiful bays and splendid diving sites.

For another type of excursion, visits to Luxor (ancient Thebes), the Monasteries of Saint Anthony and Saint Paul and the archaeological sites of Mons Claudianus and Mons Porphyrites are interesting.
