Located on the island of Ischia, Casamicciola Terme is a renowned spa resort, which reached its peak in the nineteenth century, when new spas were added, with waters indicated to treat respiratory, gynecological and rheumatic disorders.

In Casamicciola there is a tourist and fishing port, a beautiful coastline and, inland, expanses of chestnut and pine forests, which contribute to creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.


What see

Among the main monuments and places of interest is the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena Penitente, destroyed by the earthquake of 1883 and rebuilt in 1896, with an interior with three naves where there is a high altar in polychrome marble and eight other altars in the respective side chapels .

Also noteworthy is the presence of an eighteenth-century marble baptismal font, as well as that of numerous statues and the tomb of the venerable Giuseppe Morgera.

The church of Santa Maria della Pietà, dating back to 1897, houses a seventeenth-century painting depicting the deposition of the Lord from the Cross, the work of the painter Andrea Vaccaro.

Do not miss a visit to the Geophysical Observatory, where ancient instruments used for the detection of seismic phenomena are preserved, of the church of Santa Maria Maddalena from 1896, and of the Church of the Pietà, which houses a beautiful painting on canvas, depicting the Deposition, work of the artist Andrea Vaccaro.
