Holy Mexican Martyrs
The Mexican martyrs, having followed in the footsteps of Christ who died on the cross, are a source of glory for the whole Church.
Being priests, they were killed because of their ministry, courageously exercised in Mexico, despite being aware of the serious risks they were facing, wanting to announce the Gospel in that territory where Christians were frowned upon and persecuted if discovered.
In 1926, a persecution of wide proportions took place in Mexico, carried out against the Church, which concentrated above all against the Mexican Catholics and their priests.
Saints Christopher Magallanes, priest, and numerous companions suffered martyrdom with the sole motivation of having professed, in various regions of Mexico, the Christian faith without ever denying it even under threat.
