post-title

Who was St. Peter, biography and famous phrases taken from the Holy Bible, when celebrating, as described in the Acts of the Apostles, character and how it stood in public.

Biography of Saint Peter

Pietro was born in Galilee, he worked as a fisherman. Originally his name was Simon Peter, he was part of the restricted circle of the twelve apostles of Jesus and was one of those who were most fond of him, to the point that after the crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ he was appointed teacher and founder of the Catholic Church , for this reason Saint Peter is also considered the first Pope.

St. Peter, together with St. Paul, had the merit of initiating a great work of evangelization and diffusion of the Christian religion among those who still followed paganism.

The most reliable sources concerning St. Peter are found in the New Testament, especially in the Four Gospels and in the Acts of the Apostles.

Two letters are attributed to him, albeit with strong reservations by authoritative experts.

The solemn Feast of St. Peter is celebrated together with that of St. Paul on June 29 of each year, since the two saints are considered the founders of the Christian Church.

Some testimonies regarding the biography and works of Peter are reported in the writings of the Church Fathers, are believed to be credible clues, confirmed also by some archaeological finds.

The figure of Peter that comes out of the Acts of the Apostles is that of a poorly educated man, without any knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, although this is certainly the most intelligent among the apostles, the most curious and eager to learn everything that Jesus teaches, as well as the most impetuous in speaking.
