Tourist information

Famous seaside resort on the Adriatic Riviera in the province of Rimini, Cattolica is equipped with excellent accommodation facilities to cope with the considerable tourist attraction exercised by the beautiful beach of very fine sand, over 2 kilometers long, well cared for and equipped.

At the mouth of the Tavollo river is located the Port of Cattolica, which is divided into the two piers of the east and west.

The Cattolica promenade includes a pleasant pedestrian path paved in wood with flower beds on the sides.

Not far away, in via Pascoli, is the Rocca which, dating back to 1491 and built as a defensive bastion, also had the function of controlling illegal maritime trade.

In via Verdi di you can admire the house of Guglielmo Marconi, where the scientist lived between 1893 and 1895.

The Teatro della Regina, designed in 1984 by Pier Luigi Cervellati and inaugurated in 1996, is located opposite the Arena della Regina, where concerts are held in the summer.

What see

The Queen's Museum deserves to be visited, which preserves archaeological finds relating to the Roman period, as well as a section dedicated to the Marine.

The main squares of Cattolica include Piazza De Curtis, home of the weekly Saturday market and seasonal markets, Piazza Primo Maggio or Piazza delle Sirene, also known as Piazza delle Fontane Danzanti because the water of the fountains gushes to the sound of music, Piazza Neptune which, located in the center, unites the pedestrian areas of viale Bovio and via Mancini, and Piazza del Mercato, home of the covered market.

The Fontana delle Sirene is located in the same place where, in 1800, the Lazzaretto was located, which was a sanitary and customs garrison to control the shoreline.

The Cattolica aquarium, which was built in the vast area that housed the marine colony in the 1930s, has a naval fleet shape, which is why it is also called "Le Navi Aquarium".
