What to see in Conca dei Marini, a seaside village on the Campania coast not far from Amalfi, an itinerary including the Emerald Grotto, the Santa Rosa monastery and the beach.

Located on the Amalfi Coast, Conca dei Marini is a very pleasant location, although less known from a tourist point of view than the nearby Amalfi, Ravello and Positano.

The country has preserved the appearance of the ancient seaside village, a factor which, combined with the wonderful panoramas that surround it, contributes to making it a very interesting destination.


The built-up area, made up of small white houses, extends inside a small bay, dominated by the Saracen Tower, an ancient watchtower with a square base and built in 1563, to defend the town from Saracen raids.

What see

The emerald cave has the particularity of having a bottom covered by sea water which, due to the effect of sunlight, takes on an emerald color.

Among the major attractions of the place are the church and the monastery of Santa Rosa, inside which there is a thematic museum on monastic life.

In this exhibition area of ​​the convent it is possible to attend the preparation of various remedies prepared with medicinal herbs, also you can visit the factory of the Santa Rosa sfogliatella, an exquisite dessert invented in 1600 in this convent.

During the summer, on the beach of the village, it is easy to meet local folk groups that give life to entertaining musical performances, characterized by popular songs capable of involving those present, which are often followed by night meals, based on spaghetti and intoxicating drinks of local wine.
