Located in the Boite valley, Cortina d'Ampezzo is a renowned holiday resort in the Belluno Dolomites, where there are, in addition to activities related to tourist reception, also good level shops and craft activities, the latter mainly related to woodworking. .

Inside the museum dedicated to Mario Rimoldi, a collector of Cortina d'Ampezzo, there are numerous paintings, including paintings by Guttuso, Carrà, Campigli and Morandi.


In Corso Italia, which represents the main street, there is the Museum of Rules, where an interesting collection of fossils is exhibited, as well as various testimonies relating to local traditions.

In Piazza Roma overlooks the eighteenth-century parish church dedicated to Saints Philip and James, which preserves inside a remarkable wooden tabernacle, built in 1724 by Brustolon, in addition to the altarpiece depicting Madonna and Saints, a work of 1679 by Zanchi.

What see

Nearby is the Belvedere Pocol, or a natural terrace located at 1534 meters above sea level, from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of Cortina and the basin in which it is enclosed.


Not far away is the Pocol military shrine which conserves the remains of the thousands of victims caused by the First World War inside a square-based tower.

The recommended excursions include the one to Lake Ghedina, located 11 km away from Cortina, in a pine forest located at 1449 meters above sea level.

At 16 km there is the Passo di Falzarego, which forms the watershed between the Boite and the Cordevole, located at 2105 meters above sea level.

From this Dolomite pass it is possible to reach the Lagazuol Piccolo by cable car, at an altitude of 2746 meters.

Another interesting place to reach is the Passo Tre Croci, about 8 km away, which is a tourist center located between the Cortina basin and the Anslei valley.
